Nasolabial fold lines are very obvious and therefore, have a considerable influence on your facial aesthetic. As you age, the nasolabial fold lines deepen and can give your face a sad or tired expression. We can change that quickly and easily with filler!
What are nasolabial fold lines?
Nasolabial folds are the lines on either side of your mouth that extend from the edge of your nose to your mouth’s outer corners. These folds, which are made of dense bundles of fibrous tissue and muscles, become very prominent when people smile but can also be seen in a relaxed state. Nasolabial fold lines tend to deepen with age, as do most lines and wrinkles. Next to the nasolabial fold lines, you can often find the smile lines, also called laugh lines. These lines are more visible during smiling and can also easily be fixed by one of our House of Bratz specialists.
What causes nasolabial fold lines?
As with almost every type of wrinkle, we can ascribe nasolabial fold lines to the ageing of the skin. As we get older, elastin and collagen production slow significantly, negatively influencing our skin. Nasolabial fold lines are therefore inevitable. But you can improve your skin health and prevent your skin from ageing too fast. For example, by protecting your face from the sun. Sun exposure can cause damage to the skin, causing wrinkles and changes in texture. Find a good SPF sun cream and use it every day. Smoking also negatively impacts your skin. If you want to slow your ageing process, you might want to think about quitting smoking. Finally, you want to keep a consistent weight because rapid weight loss and frequent fluctuations can stretch the skin unnecessarily.
House of Bratz nasolabial fold lines filler treatment
House of Bratz fills the indentions known as nasolabial folds with filler to lessen the lines on your face. Almost anything is possible with fillers, and our House of Bratz specialists are trained to create the perfect result, using the ‘Art of Bratz’ filling method. We create results that suit your face for an aesthetically pleasing look that creates facial harmony at the same time.
We use hyaluronic acid to fill in your nasolabial fold lines. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that can be found in your body. It is a moisture magnet that helps your cells retain their elasticity. This, in turn, creates skin that not only appears hydrated and plump, but is actually healthy as well. The brand House of Bratz uses is Stylage. This filler increases the elasticity of the skin, making the filler firm and ensuring a natural smooth effect. The filler contains mannitol, which means that the risk of side effects such as bruising is minimal. The lidocaine that is processed in Stylage provides an anaesthetic effect when the injection is placed in the skin.
Nasolabial fold lines treatment process
When you arrive, we will start with a consultation. During this consultation, we discuss what you would like to achieve with your nasolabial fold lines filler treatment. Depending on your wishes, we will use different methods that fit your goals. We take a look at your medical background and history, and then decide what treatment would suit you best. Before we start the injection process, we take pictures of your face from different angles so that you can compare them with the final result of your nasolabial fold lines treatment.
After we have photographed your face, (specifically the mouth/nose area) we will apply an anaesthetic cream to the area. Our physician will then administer the injectable filler with an ultra-thin cannula needle. This adds volume, provides contour, and fills in the lines to create the desired result. The nasolabial fold lines filler treatment takes 8 to 20 minutes.
How long does it take to see the results?
Results are immediate after the nasolabial fold lines filler treatment; however, it will be a swollen version of the final result. You might even bruise slightly in the areas where the filler was administered. That’s perfectly normal, so there is no need to worry. You might think we overfilled your nasolabial fold lines because it looks more voluminous than it should. Don’t worry, it’s only the swelling that gives that impression. We advise patience when it comes to fillers. You will experience your final result after about 2 weeks. The area will have healed completely, the swelling will be gone, and your result will be exactly what you want it to be.
