Marionette lines can make you look like a puppet on a string, which is not a preferred look for most. These lines can have a negative influence on your confidence and your overall aesthetic. Many people use Botox or fillers to counteract these marionette lines.
What are marionette lines?
Marionette lines are facial wrinkles that occur naturally with ageing. The lines run vertically between the mouth and chin, which can create sagging in the lower half of your face. The name, ‘marionette lines’, comes from marionette string puppets. They are known for having split jaws that puppeteers use to make them ‘talk’. The lines look quite alike, and therefore they were dubbed marionette lines.
Why do I have marionette lines?
As said before, marionette lines are a natural part of ageing. The skin around your mouth is particularly prone to wrinkling because it’s thinner compared to the rest of your face. These lines tend to develop by your 40s, but some start seeing the signs of these lines as early as their 30s and sometimes even 20s. You can stop these wrinkles from appearing by either starting Botox treatments early on, or, if you already have marionette lines, by undergoing the House of Bratz marionette lines filler treatment.
House of Bratz marionette lines filler treatment
Our objective with the marionette lines filler treatment is to fill in the grooves, whilst still maintaining an aesthetically pleasing natural look that is perfectly suited to your face. We want subtle, natural-looking improvements, as do most of our clients. Do you want to undergo a complete transformation? Let us know during the consultation and our House of Bratz specialists will advise you accordingly.
We use hyaluronic acid to fill in your marionette lines. Hyaluronic acid is a substance found in our bodies, meaning that it is all-natural. It is a moisture magnet that helps your cells retain their elasticity. This, in turn, creates skin that not only appears hydrated and plump, but is actually healthy as well.
Marionette lines filler treatment process
The process of a marionette lines filler treatment is simple. As always, before we do anything to your face, we sit down together for a consultation. We want to hear what exactly you would like to change and what you want to achieve. We use different methods, depending on what kind of results you want to achieve. At House of Bratz, we are always honest and transparent about the possibilities. We check your medical background and history, since this influences what type of treatment suits you best. We also take before pictures so that you can compare your after results and be amazed by the difference the marionette lines filler treatment makes.
Before we start injecting filler with an ultra-thin cannula needle, we apply an anaesthetic cream to the marionette lines areas. This will help numb the area. As we inject into the area, you’ll feel a slight pressure. This is the feeling of your lines being filled. This treatment takes between 10 and 15 minutes, not including the time we use for putting the anaesthetic cream on and letting it sit. All House of Bratz specialists are licensed practitioners.
How long does it take to see the results?
The beauty of fillers is that the result is immediate. After your marionette lines filler treatment, you’ll have a swollen version of the end result. The treated marionette lines will sometimes bruise. That’s perfectly normal, so there is no need to worry. Some believe that they look overfilled, but it’s the swelling that gives that impression. We recommend patience when it comes to fillers. After about 2 weeks, the area will be healed completely, the swelling will be gone, and the final result will be undoubtedly what it should be.
What not to do after the treatment?
We advise you to not do the following things after your marionette lines filler treatment at House of Bratz:
- No smoking, no alcohol consumption, and no physical exercise the first 24 hours.
- Limit sun exposure and don’t visit tanning beds the first 2 weeks.
- No sauna, spa, and hammam for the first 2 weeks.
- No facial treatments, such as laser treatments or peels, the first 2 weeks.
